The Application Process

- Review the funding opportunity's Guidelines and Application Procedures document for details.
- Funding opportunities are announced on the Information for Grantees and Applicants page and DCJS website.

OSC hosts a pre-application submission webinar.
- The webinar covers the funding opportunity requirements, the application process, and frequently asked questions.
- Dates and times can be found in the Guidelines and Application Procedures document.

Applications are submitted by the due date.
- Applications must be submitted in OGMS on time.
- Late applications will not be considered.

Applications are reviewed and scored by the review team.
- The review team consists of internal staff. For specific funding opportunities, the review team collaborates with external sources.
- Reviewers may consider demonstrated need, location, budget justification, program design, sustainability, cost effectiveness, adherence to grant guidelines, and the availability of funds. For continuation grants or currently funded grant projects, reviewers may consider performance, project progress, and ongoing implementation.

The OSC team presents the recommended programs to the Criminal Justice Services Board (CJSB) Grants Committee.
- Prior to the meeting, OSC shares the project description provided in the application.
- The committee votes to determine whether the selected grant programs are recommended to the full CJSB.

Committee recommended programs are reviewed and voted on by the CJSB.
- Applicants are encouraged to attend the CJSB meeting.
- Fiscal and programmatic revisions may be required to receive funding.

An agreement with any fiscal or programmatic adjustments is sent to the awarded program for signature.
- The agreement must be signed and returned to the CJSB prior to disbursement of funds.

OSC grant monitors host a post-award webinar.
- This webinar reviews disbursement information and reporting expectations.
