The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce an opportunity to attend “School Security Officer Initial Certification Training.” This two day class is intended for school security officers who are in need of initial certification. The five DCJS school security officer modules will be presented and followed by the required DCJS testing.
School Security Officers currently employed by a Virginia Public School Division or by a private school within the Commonwealth and in need of initial certification.

Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for school security officers will be available.
Participants are responsible for their transportation, meals and lodging arrangements and expenses.
There is no cost to attend the training. Pre-registration is required.
Participants will be required to complete a Participant Screening and Waiver prior to attending the training. This will be emailed to registrants before the training and will also be available to complete at check-in on the day of the training.
PLEASE NOTE: DCJS is preparing and planning to continue holding training sessions and conferences after a resumption of normal activities. Every effort will be made to hold this scheduled training, however, due to the uncertainty of the progression of the COVID-19, this training may require rescheduling.
