General Description
According to National Statistics violent crime has increased nationwide in the last year. This increase has had an impact on a number of communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Many of these communities report that youth violence has increased and has become a major public safety concern. In order to address this issue, communities need to be prepared to assess the scope of the problem and learn how to build effective community-based teams and to engage in model strategic planning at the local level.
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to offer a series of webinars focused on reducing youth violence within communities in the Commonwealth. This three-part series will provide proven strategies to strengthen community engagement in the process of youth violence reduction.
