Effective support for clients in human service agencies requires workers to understand the impact of vicarious trauma. It is necessary for service providers to recognize the ways that trauma symptoms are likely to manifest and their relationships with people in helping positions. In order to maintain positive mental health while dealing with vicarious trauma, it is important to have strategies to help yourself and those around you. This session will provide information on vicarious trauma and how it can affect your work and life as well as healthy ways to work through it.
This webinar will be a presented by Sarah Yanosy, LCSW. Ms. Yanosy currently an instructor at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and has been a keynote and featured speaker on trauma and organizational culture at both national and international conferences and has published extensively on the implementation and impact of trauma responsive practice.
This training is intended for K-12 and IHE educators, school and campus security personnel, prevention providers, law enforcement, probation officers, school and campus administration, treatment professionals, counselors, student conduct professionals, prosecutors, residence life staff, and other interested school, campus or community personnel.
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement as well as school and campus security officers will be available.
There is no fee to attend this training.
Training runs from 9:00-12:00
