The Firearm Violence Intervention and Prevention (FVIP) Fund was created by the Virginia General Assembly during the 2022 Special Session. FVIP funds are available to local government agencies, community-based organizations, and hospitals to support the implementation of evidence-informed gun violence intervention and prevention efforts.
FVIP grants support many important community-centered projects in neighborhoods across Virginia. These violence intervention and prevention programs address interpersonal violence by working with a wide range of community stakeholders to provide support and intervention to those at risk of becoming a victim or perpetrator of violence.
