Description:
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to offer "Standard Response Protocol (SRP) Overview," an interactive 75-minute virtual webinar.
When an incident or emergency occurs on school grounds, a clear, unified, and standard response is essential to ensuring student and staff safety. This concise 75-minute virtual session provides school administrators, safety personnel, emergency managers, law enforcement, and community partners with a comprehensive overview of the Standard Response Protocol (SRP).
Through guided presentation and practical operational insights, participants will examine the core action commands of SRP—Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter—and learn how to establish common terminology across school divisions and first responder agencies. Attendees will leave with key takeaways to enhance their local emergency operation plans and improve crisis response preparedness.
Who Should Attend:
This training is designed for any individual who may be impacted by SRP actions, whether tasked with initiating a command or taking action when a response is called. Eligible participants include division and school administrators, school safety and security personnel, crisis response team members, educators, school staff, emergency managers, law enforcement, and community safety partners involved in school emergency planning.

Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for Virginia law enforcement officers is not available for this training.
