Kristi is the agency's Regulatory Coordinator, working out the Standards and Policy section of the Law Enforcement Division, where she manages the many sections of administrative code affecting Virginia law enforcement and numerous criminal justice professions that DCJS regulates. She is also responsible for assisting with model policies to be utilized by law enforcement agencies, and frequently collaborates with the Training Standards Coordinator on numerous other projects within the division. She began her position with DCJS in early 2019 after serving as a magistrate for several years in the 16th Judicial District, primarily sitting in Orange, Culpeper, and Albemarle counties. Prior to becoming a magistrate, she worked as a victim advocate for the Stafford County Victim/Witness Office, assisting with criminal cases and protective orders. Kristi holds a Ph.D., an MS, and a BA in Criminal Justice Leadership and Administration, respectively, and is a busy mom of three teenagers.
