Bio

Chad Felts is the Capacity Building & Sustainability Coordinator for the Office of Safer Communities at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS).  In this role, Chad provides training and technical assistance to non-profit agencies, units of local government, and other community partners as they prepare, apply for, implement, and monitor DCJS-sponsored grants related to firearm violence and violent crime reduction.  Chad works with grantees to develop specific and measurable goals and objectives in order to track and report on grant performance measures.  In addition, Chad represents DCJS on the statewide Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) team, which is responsible for recruiting and training new law enforcement agencies and domestic violence service providers to become LAP implementers.  Chad received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
