FY 25 Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) Grant Program Current Discretionary, Prosecution, and Forensic/Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Applicants

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is the administering agency for the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF). Pursuant to Code of Virginia § 9.1-116.1, DCJS is announcing the availability of funding to assist in protecting and providing necessary services to victims of and/or children affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking, and family abuse.

SFY 2025 Competitive VOCA VSGP

In order to meet federally mandated distribution requirements of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding regulations (VOCA Rule), the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is offering a limited competitive funding opportunity for eligible applicants to provide direct services to victims of crime in traditionally underserved or unserved populations.
 

CY 2024-2025 Virginia Services, Training, Officers, Prosecution (VSTOP) Formula Grant Program

In 1994, the United States Congress passed the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. One part of VAWA is the STOP (Services, Training, Officers, Prosecution) Violence Against Women program, administered by the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW).

CY 2024 Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP)

These Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP) Guidelines and Application Procedures provide detailed guidance to aid applicants in determining eligibility, developing itemized budgets and budget narratives, and completing other related forms. Using the guidance presented in this document, applicants can efficiently and effectively prepare complete applications. The development of these requirements was informed by the Office on Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Grants Financial Guide.

 

FY24 Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) Grant Program

In 2004, the Virginia General Assembly passed legislation creating the Virginia Domestic Violence Victim Fund. In 2006, the Virginia General Assembly passed additional legislation changing the name of the fund to the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF), effective July 1, 2006. This change more accurately reflects the purpose of the funding and clarifies that resources should be focused on addressing both sexual and domestic violence.

Victims Services Grant Program (VSGP) SFY 2024 Continuation

These Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victims Services Grant Program (VSGP) Guidelines and Application Procedures provide detailed guidance to aid applicants in determining eligibility, developing itemized budgets and budget narratives, and completing other related forms. The development of these requirements was informed by the VOCA Rule and other federal requirements.

2023 Hospital-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Program

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is now accepting applications for the Virginia Hospital-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Program (HVIP). The purpose of this initiative is to support the implementation of proven strategies that will result in reducing violent crime within the Commonwealth while implementing effective and sustainable solutions to intercept and eliminate local cycles of violence.

CY 2023 Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP)

The Sexual Assault Services Formula Grant Program (SASP) was created by the Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005 Technical Amendments, and is the first federal funding stream solely dedicated to the provision of direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. SASP is administered at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW).
