Virginia Beach, Virginia

The Office of Safer Communities (OSC) within the Division of Programs and Services presents the 2025 Statewide Community of Practice Conference. This event will bring law enforcement agencies, local government agencies, and non-profit organizations from across the Commonwealth together for collaborative and informative sessions that will discuss a range of topics, share innovative interventions, and build stronger networks. Jens Ludwig, author of Unforgiving Places: The Unexpected Origins of American Gun Violence, will deliver our keynote address. Breakout sessions will include program highlights, real-world case studies, panel discussions, and policy discussions.

The conference is organized with three tracks in mind: non-profit organizations, law enforcement, and law/policy. Each track includes five breakout sessions in addition to the keynote speaker and plenaries.
