Alex MacDougall serves as the Performance Management and Compliance Coordinator within Adult Justice Programs at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). In this role, Alex monitors program compliance and performance, providing technical assistance to local probation and pretrial programs under the Comprehensive Community Corrections Act and Pretrial Services Act. Ensuring that programs comply with DCJS minimum standards, the Code of Virginia, and other regulations is a key aspect of Alex's responsibilities.

Before joining DCJS, Alex held roles at Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR) in Charlottesville, starting as a Local Probation Officer and later becoming a Reentry Case Manager. He then led the establishment of a new Reentry program at OAR's Orange, Virginia satellite office, serving multiple counties and providing pre-release services at the Central Virginia Regional Jail, later serving as the manager of that program.
