The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Program Professional Standards are voluntary accreditation standards and measures by which sexual and domestic violence programs can be evaluated. This site provides information to any sexual and/or domestic violence program interested in becoming an accredited sexual violence, domestic violence, or dual program agency. Below is the link to the Professional Standards Manual. To begin this process, please read the Manual thoroughly. Once you have done that, complete the Professional Standards Organizational Self-Assessment and then submit the Professional Standards Organizational Self-Assessment Summary.

After you have submitted the Professional Standards Organizational Self-Assessment Summary to sdvstandards@dcjs.virginia.gov, you will receive further instructions on the next steps to becoming accredited.
The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Program Professional Standards Coordinator is available to help sexual and domestic violence programs preparing to become accredited at anytime during the process. The Coordinator can provide technical assistance, training, and support. Contact DCJS's Professional Standards Team for more information or to request assistance.
The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Program Professional Standards Consultant will conduct site visits for sexual and domestic violence programs seeking accreditation. The Consultant is also able to provide technical assistance, training, and support. The Consultant may also be reached via the DCJS Professional Standards Team email address.
