Description
The General Instructor Development Course is an intensive 40-hour course conducted over the course of five (5) days. The course meets the requirement for the 40-hours General Instructor course as established in the requirements for Crime Prevention Specialist certification in Virginia.

Intended Participants
This course is restricted to non-sworn individuals working in local, state, and federal law enforcement and government agencies, including colleges and universities, civilian or volunteer.
Partial In-service Credit
There is no Partial In-service Credit available for this training.
Travel, Lodging, and Meals
Transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the participant.
Training Times
Sign in begins on Monday at 7:30 AM
Training begins at 8:00 AM and concludes at 5:00 PM each day.
Cost and Registration
There is no fee to attend this training. Pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
