Description
The Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to offer a one day, in-person train the trainer course on the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and the Standard Reunification Method (SRM). The Standard Response Protocol and the Standard Reunification Method were developed by the “I Love U Guys” Foundation as a research-based best practice to respond to critical incidents. The Commonwealth of Virginia has partnered with the “I Love U Guys” foundation to provide a Virginia specific SRP and SRM framework to K-12 public schools. This training session will provide participants an opportunity to hear how the SRP and SRM were developed and how it provides a common operating picture through the use of
standardized vocabulary from people who have experienced school violence first-hand.

Who should attend?
Educators, administrators, school and division safety teams, school security officers, law enforcement, Fire/EMS, emergency managers, and other local, state, and federal first responders.
 
Training Time and Details
The training hours will be 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
 
Partial In-service Credit
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) is available for law enforcement and school/campus security officers who meet attendance and participation requirements.
 
Travel, Lodging and Meals
Participants are responsible for their transportation, lodging, and meals.
 
Cost and Registration
There is no cost to attend this training. Pre-registration is required.
 
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
