Description

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce "How to Conduct a Debrief". Debriefs are used post-incident to analyze and reflect on what went well and where improvements can be made in your crisis plan. This course will address how and when to conduct a debrief in the K-12 setting following a crisis or critical incident and steps to make changes to mitigate future, similar incidents.

Who Should Attend?

This virtual training is open to all school division emergency managers, school administrators, and staff across the Commonwealth responsible for planning/preparing and responding to a crisis, and first responders.

Partial In-service Credit

Partial In-service Credit is not available.

Cost: 

There is no cost to attend this webinar. Pre-registration is required.

To access this virtual training, please follow the instructions below:   

  1. Log into your Benchmark account: https://training.benchmarkonline.app/dcjs/signin   

  1. Navigate to the Left side of the home screen and click on "My Training" (any trainings you have registered for will appear here)   

  1. Click on “Planning considerations for High School Graduation”  

  1. 15 minutes before the training is scheduled to begin the blue "Add to Calendar" button will change to "Attend the Meeting"   

  1. Click "Attend the Meeting" to join the Zoom session!  Note: Please enter your full name or Benchmark username when joining the Zoom call so proper attendance records can be maintained. 

Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS-assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
