VALOR Officer Safety and Wellness Program’s Safer Together Workshops - Safer Together Command-Level Forum

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce a partnership with the VALOR Officer Safety and Wellness Program (VALOR) to provide Safer Together workshops for frontline officers, command-level staff, and executive staff. Are you ready to reinvigorate your passion for the law enforcement profession? This highly interactive course for command-level staff provides actionable skills and strategies that you can use to help your people make the most of every interaction, which will result in enhancing safety and wellness and promoting a healthy community climate. This training stresses the imperative for building trust, one interaction at a time, as a foundational basis to improve community climate, enhance safety and wellness, and reduce crime.

  • Be a role model for your people.
  • Remember why you serve.
  • Address challenging perceptions.
  • Recognize the impacts of community climate on your people.
  • Change community perceptions with value-added and plus-one interactions.
  • Implement Safer Together strategies into your agency’s culture and measure their success.
  • Be part of the solution and take the Safer Together Challenge.

Who Should Attend?

This training is open to all command-level law enforcement staff.

Partial In-service Credit

Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for Virginia law enforcement officers will be available.

Cost

There is no fee to attend this training.

Travel, Lodging, and Meals

Transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the participant.
