Description

The DCJS Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety is pleased to offer England Consulting’s “Understanding and Resolving Conflict: Making Peace in Difficult Confrontations” training.

Have you ever wondered why "situations" sometimes get out of hand?  How a minor situation can become a full-blown conflict?  Understanding and Resolving Conflict: Making Peace in Difficult Confrontations seeks to answer those questions with real, meaningful responses to those very "situations."  The aim of the course is to provide factually researched information that will give participants the background knowledge and tools to successfully learn to deal with people in the most difficult of situations.  Participants who complete the course will learn the essentials of effective communication and how to create win-win outcomes.  They will also be introduced to generational and cultural barriers that affect positive interactions with law enforcement and successful outcomes in those interactions. Finally, participants will learn the "nuts and bolts" of confrontational encounters and how to respond effectively and appropriately.

Topics to be discussed:

  • DISC Personality Profile

  • Understanding Generational Issues

  • Police Culture and Interaction with Society

  • Effectively Communicating

  • Emotional and Physiological Barriers to Making Peace in Difficult Situations
