School Safety and Security Virtual Roundtable

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce a new series of School Safety and Security Virtual Roundtables. These regional, online meetings are designed to provide a collaborative environment to discuss relevant issues in real time with other professionals around the Commonwealth. These meetings will be conducted via Zoom and will host resources from various federal, state, and local agencies with an interest in school safety allowing participants to share ideas and discuss issues related to managing school safety and security across the Commonwealth.

We are excited to welcome the Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools (REMS) Technical Assistance (TA) Center and their team back to speak at the first quarter of 2023 roundtable. The REMS TA Center serves under the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Supportive Schools and brings a variety of tools and resources to help schools and school districts with prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts. REMS TA staff will be discussing tools and resources available through their program.

The sessions will run for a maximum of 1 hour. DCJS staff will be on hand to moderate and guide the agenda. Specific topics for discussion may be submitted in advance to Danielle Clark at danielle.clark@dcjs.virginia.gov or by phone at 804-877-6638.

Intended Audience

This series is intended for School Security Directors, Emergency Managers and other appropriate personnel as designated by the superintendent as well as other interested school safety personnel. 

Cost and Registration

There is no fee to attend this webinar series. Pre-registration is required. Registrants will receive an email with instructions for joining the webinar prior to the event.
