The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce the opportunity to attend the “Resilient Response: Harnessing Emotional Intelligence” Webinar.    

It is a fact that the role of the first responder in today’s world is changing. The first responder of today needs to not only have technical and operational skill, but the ability to understand and manage emotions. 

"Resilient Response: Harnessing Emotional Intelligence" is an exploration of the transformative power of emotional intelligence (EQ) designed to enhance the overall quality of life for participants. This dynamic course emphasizes the vital role of self-awareness in fostering resilience and well-being in the challenging environment of first response.

Throughout this engaging program, participants will actively engage in group discussions and activities specifically designed to enhance their understanding of emotional intelligence concepts. The course integrates scientific principles with practical strategies, encouraging participants to explore the impact of emotions on decision-making, relationships, and overall mental well-being.

Topics to be Covered include:

  • Developing Self-Awareness

  • Building and Maintaining Positive Habits

  • Enhancing Communication and Stress Management

Who should attend?

This training will benefit any first responder wishing to improve their ability to improve and understand their emotional wellness and overall, well-being.
