Description

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce, “Crime Prevention for Senior Citizens” training.

Senior citizens represent the most rapidly growing segment of the United States population. By 2030, the number of senior citizens in the U.S. is expected to exceed 64 million. Due to their financial assets and both mental and physical disabilities and limitations, seniors are often the targets of fraud, abuse and other criminal victimization. The American Crime Prevention Institute (ACPI) has developed a unique crime prevention program that focuses on crime prevention and safety for senior citizens. This training program provides guidance related to criminal victimization of seniors and how to prevent or mitigate its occurrence. This program will train law enforcement personnel and others on crime prevention techniques for Senior Citizens and Senior Living Communities.
