Description:
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to offer “Crisis Management Plan Development for Schools”.
Designed around the newly released DCJS School Crisis, Emergency Management, and Medical Emergency Response Plan (CMP) Template this accelerated, hands-on course will demonstrate key elements of developing and testing all hazards and all individuals crisis plans for division and school leaders.
Recognizing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of participants, the training and associated resources are designed to accommodate varying levels of familiarity with the subject matter. Attendees will be provided a foundation of current best practices and legislation to support the improvement of existing crisis plans and processes.
Who Should Attend:
This training will benefit all division and school administrators, emergency managers, crisis team members, school security, law enforcement, and other first responders and partnering agencies tasked with developing crisis management plans.
Partial In-Service Credit:
Partial In-Service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement officers will not be available.
Travel, Lodging, and Meals:
Not applicable—this training will take place online via Zoom.
Training Details:
Training begins at 8:30 am and ends at 9:30 am.
Cost and Registration:
There is no registration fee to attend this training. Pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS-assigned course coordinator to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Denied registrants will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
