Description
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) has adopted the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and the Standard Reunification Method (SRM). The Standard Response Protocol and the Standard Reunification Method were developed by The “I Love U Guys” Foundation as a research-based best practice to respond to critical incidents. The statewide adoption of SRP is intended to provide schools with consistent and easily understood language to notify all members of the school community when a specific response to an event needs to occur. Additionally, SRM provides a framework and process to reunify students with their parents/guardians in a safe, efficient, and organized manner following a crisis event.
This training session will provide participants an opportunity to hear from John Michael Keys, the Executive Director and founder of The “I Love U Guys,” shares his family’s tragedy that led to the development of SRP and SRM.
