Description

This program examines some of the traditional models of prevention, intervention, and treatment and their degrees of effectiveness.  Participants will be asked to view prevention through a different lens and will be given the opportunity to brainstorm ways of addressing concerns.  We will review updated terminology and the best ways to start the conversation with teens and young adults.  Participants will be given tools and suggestions for starting an Early Intervention Program in their school or community. Strategies for both prevention and response will be discussed.

Intended Audience

This training is intended for school mental health personnel, K-12 educators, school and campus security personnel, prevention providers, law enforcement, probation officers, school and campus administration, treatment professionals, student conduct professionals, prosecutors, residence life staff, and other interested school, campus or community personnel.

Partial In-service Credit

Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement is pending approval. Credit for School Security officers will be offered.
