Virginia HEALS: A Model of Service Delivery to Link Services for Children, Youth, and Families

The DCJS Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety and the Virginia Department of Education are pleased to announce this two-part webinar presented by Virginia HEALS. Developed as part of the Linking Systems of Care (LSC) for Children and Youth demonstration project, the Virginia HEALS model aims to assist service providers in linking systems of care across systems and providing support and care to children, youth, and families impacted by trauma and/or victimization. This webinar will focus on the Referral and Response Protocols to provide guidance to agency/organizational leadership and multi-disciplinary teams on specific components that support successful referrals and referral responses and will outline a distinct process for front line service providers on how to link children, youth, and families to needed services and support.

Intended Audience

This training is intended for K-12 and IHE educators, school and campus security personnel, prevention providers, law enforcement, probation officers, school mental health personnel, school and campus administration, treatment professionals, counselors, student conduct professionals, prosecutors, residence life staff, and other interested school, campus or community personnel.

Partial In-service Credit

Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for law enforcement and school and campus security officers will be available. Participants must attend both sessions to receive PIC.

Part 2, for Law Enforcement and School/Campus Security: February 24, 2021 ~ 10:00 am -12:00 pm

Part 2, for School Mental Health Professionals and Other School Personnel: February 24, 2021 ~ 3:00 pm -5:00 pm

Cost and Registration

There is no fee to participate in this webinar. Pre-registration is required. Please be sure to register for the appropriate session for Part 2. 

PIC and attendance certificates will be given only to those who participate in both Parts 1&2.
