Michelle has been with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services since 2014. She joined the Grants Management team as the Grants Administration Supervisor in August 2024. Previously, she served as the School Safety Grants Program Coordinator in the Division of Public Safety Training and Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety division for over four years. In this role, Michelle monitored grant compliance and provided technical assistance to school resource officers, school security officers, school districts, and law enforcement agencies. Prior to her school safety position, she was a grant monitor in the Victims Services Section and, she also worked with victims of all crime types at the Virginia Department of Corrections in the Victim Services Unit. At the beginning of her career, she was a hospital-based advocate working with adult victims of sexual and domestic violence. Michelle has a Master’s degree in Community Counseling and Forensic Psychology from Marymount University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from James Madison University.
