FY 2020 2021 Victims of Crime Act Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Grant Program

Interpersonal violence has long been viewed as public health issue. In order to address the devastating consequences of violence, hospitals in high-violence areas have seen tremendous success after implementing hospital-based violence intervention programs (HVIPs). The HVIP model can significantly improve patient outcomes by reducing incidents of re-injury and retaliation. Studies suggest that HVIPs can result in decreased costs associated with healthcare and criminal justice expenses.

FY 2020 2021 Victims of Crime Act School-Based Victim Services Grant Program

Executive Order 11 was signed on June 21, 2018, which, in part, established the Work Group on Student Safety and tasked it with developing recommendations to enhance school safety in a variety of ways. This grant program is intended to complement the efforts of that work group and fund efforts to enhance schools by meeting the needs of child and youth victims.

FY 2020 2021 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victims Services Grant Program

These Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victims Services Grant Program (VSGP) Guidelines and Application Procedures provide detailed guidance to aid applicants in determining eligibility, developing itemized budgets and budget narratives, and completing other related forms. Using the guidance presented in this document, applicants can efficiently and effectively prepare complete applications.

2019 - Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP One-Time) Formula Grant Program

 The Sexual Assault Services Formula Grant Program (SASP) was created by the Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005 Technical Amendments, and is the first federal funding stream solely dedicated to the provision of direct intervention and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. SASP is administered at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women.

FY 2019 – 2021 Victim / Witness Grant Program Guidelines for New and Continuation Applicants

In accordance with §9.1-104, 19.2-11.1, and 19.2-11.3 of the Code of Virginia, the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is disseminating these Program Guidelines to continue supporting grant funded local victim/witness programs, establish new programs in un-served localities, and support existing statewide programs designed to provide direct services, information, and assistance required by Virginia’s Crime Victim and Witness Rights Act (the Act; see 1995, c. 687) and other victims’ rights laws.

(2017 - 2018) Violence Against Women (V-STOP) - One Time Projects for New Applicants

The Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is the administering agency for the Virginia Services, Training, Officers, Prosecution (V-STOP) Violence Against Women grant program. V-STOP offers grant funds to successful applicants for activities that increase the apprehension, prosecution and adjudication of persons committing violent crimes against women.
 

(FY 2022) Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) - Prosecution

The Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is the administering agency for the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) grant program. Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund grants are available to non-profit programs, local units of government, and state agencies that provide services to victims of and/or children affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking and family abuse. 

Funds awarded during this cycle will be for a one year continuation-period July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.

(FY 2018 - 2020) Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) - Discretionary

The Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is the administering agency for the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) grant program. Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund grants are available to non-profit programs, local units of government, and state agencies that provide services to victims of and/or children affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking and family abuse. Eligible applicants include law enforcement agencies, victims’ services programs, and programs that provide civil legal assistance.
