Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Virginia Victim Witness Grant Program

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Victim Witness Grant Program (VWGP) funding opportunity for continuing grants. The funding opportunity is available in the new DCJS On-line Grant Management System (OGMS) and on the DCJS websiteGrant application submissions are required in OGMS no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021.

In accordance with §§ 9.1-104, 19.2-11.1, and 19.2-11.3 of the Code of Virginia, DCJS is disseminating this program funding announcement to continue supporting grant funded local victim/witness programs, and the Office of the Attorney General, Virginia Department of Corrections, and Virginia Parole Board statewide programs, all of which are designed to provide direct services, information, and assistance as required by Virginia’s Crime Victim and Witness Rights Act and other victims’ rights laws.

This funding opportunity announcement provides guidance to aid applicants in determining eligibility, developing the itemized budget and budget narrative, and completing other related forms, including service delivery targets. Using the guidance presented in this document, applicants should be able to efficiently and effectively prepare complete applications in OGMS.

All applicants must be registered users in OGMS to access and apply for this funding opportunity. OGMS training resources are available on our OGMS Training & Resources webpage.  For technical assistance with OGMS, email ogmssupport@dcjs.virginia.gov and include the grant program in the subject line. This email should be used for general OGMS questions. Grant application-specific inquiries should be directed to the Grant Coordinator.

In addition, an OGMS and VWGP application information webinars will be available for applicants on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 (1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.) and Friday, March 5, 2021 (2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.).  Please click the date and time of the webinar to begin registration to participate in that event.  The presentation will discuss application requirements and instructions on how to complete the application in OGMS.
